Which factors affect the precision of handwriting detection?

The Slate 2 as the Slate 1 uses magnetic detection technology that requires certain conditions for optimal performance. The principal factors that can affect Slate’s precision are:

  • Magnetic objects such as telephones, speakers, motors, magnets, computers, or metal bars in the surrounding environment
  • WiFi or other Bluetooth radio signals that can interfere with the communication between the Slate and your iPad while using the Slate in Bluetooth mode

For best results, keep all magnetic objects at least 8 inches (20 centimeters) from the Slate to make avoid interference with the magnetic field. Make sure that you do not place the iskn pen on the Slate when you turn on the Slate.

Now in the Imagink app on desktop computers, we added a magnetic indicator: it will notify you when some metallic disrupters could alterate your Slate experience, and help you to solve easily the trouble.
